Dr. Ruffer primarily practices at Advocate Condell Hospital and serves as their Medical Director. He has been the Medical Director of Radiation Oncology, Cancer Liaison Physician to the American College of Surgeons and Chairman of the Cancer Committee at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. Dr. Ruffer has expertise in pediatric and adult neuro-oncology, breast cancer, gynecologic cancer, lung cancer, and genitourinary cancer. He is experienced in the use of image guidance, 3-D conformal radiotherapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic radiosurgery /radiotherapy (Cyberknife and TruBeam), Intraoperative radiotherapy and high-dose rate brachytherapy.
Dr. Ruffer is an active member of numerous professional organizations and is a frequent speaker locally and nationally. He also is President of Radiation Oncology Consultants, Ltd. Dr. Ruffer spends his leisure time with his spouse and best friend, Galya. He enjoys travel, reading and cycling.
