About me

Dr. Boyer primarily practices at Alexian Brothers and St. Alexius Medical Centers.  He is Board Certified in Radiation Oncology. After completing medical school at Ohio University and residency at Northwestern University, he joined Radiation Oncology Consultants, where he has been in private practice since 1993. Dr. Boyer is also a certified Radiation Technologist. He has previously been Medical Director at Lutheran General Hospital. Dr. Boyer has expertise in treating brain tumors, prostate cancer, breast cancer, and gynecologic malignancies. He is experienced in the use of 3-D conformal radiation therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic radiosurgery, and low and high dose rate brachytherapy. He is also knowledgeable in the care of head & neck, lung, and gastrointestinal malignancies.

He is an active member of the Alexian Brothers Cancer Committee, St. Alexius Cancer Committee, and numerous professional organizations. Dr. Boyer is a Regional President of the American Cancer Society.

He spends his leisure time with his wife and four sons, plays piano, and enjoys SCUBA diving. When asked why he chose Radiation Oncology, he states, “I very much enjoy the close relationships that develop with patients and their families as we battle cancer as a team.”
